International film star Chow Yun Fat (Fat Gor) is known for his friendly and easy-going personality. Despite his star status, Fat Gor is also known for being humble, never putting on airs when filming and always treating his co-workers with respect.

On the set of his new movie “Beginning of the Great Revival”, Fat Gor got along especially well with the production crew, constantly keeping the atmosphere lively and happy with his trademark sense of humor. The film’s director Huang JinXin can’t praise Fat Gor’s work ethic enough, fondly recalling the time when Fat Gor got stuck in huge winds and snow while on his way back to the studio in Hengdian – in efforts not to delay production, Fat Gor and Mainland actor Zhao Ben Shan decided to get out of the car and walk to the studio, despite the inclement weather. Unfortunately, Fat Gor’s wife Jasmine, who was with them at the time, fell ill upon returning to the studio. However, Fat Gor praised the efforts of the production crew for helping to take care of his wife, stating: “That day, if it wasn’t for the production crew taking good care of my wife and bringing her warm porridge to eat, I would not have been able to finish the day’s shooting with such ease!” In addition to his lively personality, Fat Gor was always very generous, treating the cast and crew to 3500 lamb kabobs everyday.

Fat Gor expressed that he has become good friends with his co-star, reknown Mainland actor Zhao Ben Shan: “He [Zhao Ben Shan] is a good actor with plenty of acting experience – his skills are to the point of perfection. We constantly get together to study and discuss the script.” The two also constantly played jokes on each other – one time, Fat Gor was shooting a scene and Zhao Ben Shan stayed to watch him, mimicking his moves and his speech, which caused the entire cast and crew present at the time to laugh (including Fat Gor) and also resulted in Fat Gor having to ‘NG’ his scene. In ‘playful retaliation’, Fat Gor told Zhao Ben Shan: “If you continue to mimic me and cause the crew to laugh like that, the next time we shoot a scene together, I am going to purposefully cover your face!”

In addition to making new friends, Fat Gor also had the chance to reunite with his partner from the 1980 TVB series “The Bund” -- Ray Lui. Ray has a smaller role in the film and is not in many scenes with Fat Gor, so when he bumped into his old friend at the studio that day, the two of them took the chance to catch up on old times. Ray happily expressed: “Coincidentally, I had to stay behind at the studio due to the weather, so I got the chance to see Fat Gor again. Of course Ting Lik wasn’t going to pass up the opportunity to get together again with Hui Mun Keung, even if it’s for a short time!”
