Since the start of this year's Mr. Hong Kong until today, there has been countless amounts of gossips and complaints. Earlier a male organisation filed complaints against the show saying that it is unfair to have an all female judge panel and that it is discriminating the male gender. Allowing the female judges to touch the male contestants gives an immoral message.

It was understood that TVB did not hope the complaints become a big problem, so TVB placed an order that the female judges cannot touch the male contestants during the wet swimwear part of the show. The number of times the contestants will walk over to the female judges is reduced significantly, instead more time will be spent on showing off their heroic glory.

Female judges A. Lin and Jessica C. felt that its a pity the judges can't touch the contestants and have to keep their distance. Jessica C. said "But I really want to do is just touch my own boyfriend." A. Lin said: "Oh I'll have to touch the one next to me."

As one of the MC, Koni Lui responded to the complaints and said: "Actually every year TVB tells the judges to control themselves on touching. Well before Miss Hong Kong was accused of having little clothing on. (Why are they only inviting women?) In the process of improving."

Former Mr. Hong Kong Matthew Ko expressed at a public event he attended that he has noticed the gossips around Mr. HK this year. He said: "Since the first Mr. HK, it had always been an all-female panel of judges. It is the tradition. When I participated, I touched one of the judges Christine Ng and even gave her a kiss on the hand. After all, people are just in a contest, it won't be too overboard." He expressed that he won't be a guest performer, but is anxious for the 3D swimwear part and said that many of his friends is asking for tickets.
