Despite being on good terms with Terry Gou, Carina Lau had little to say regarding the recent case at Foxconn(where the workers had commited suicide). She expressed that while there might be problems with the management, she had not send her regards to Terry. At the same time, she feels that the people of current times cannot cope well with the pressures faced in the society thus advising all to treasure life.
Yesterday Carina attended the Delsey(French luggage manufacturer) event, and was asked if she had sent her regards to Terry regarding the Foxconn event. She replied that while she knew that this was a serious matter, the problems could have lied with the management, and that the real problem had to be addressed. She was then asked on her personal views on the company management, where she replied that she have not experienced managing many people at once, therefore in no position to comment; but where there are problems, they have to be solved. She added that she felt that life has been taken too lightly. In the past there is war and hard lives, but no one would take their own lives. The 'modern people' however, cannot take on stress. We should all treasure life, and not give up easily.
